Clean eating and self-respect
To me, self-respect is a vital aspect of relieving stress. Because unhealthy eating habits might tempt me away from respecting myself due to not feeling good in my body. Let’s be clear here : I am not talking about being overweight or obese. Basically, I need to keep my body physically strong to reduce stress and to improve my energy. Here’s how i maintain my body stress-free with clean eating diet.
I feel that stress does comsume my body’s energy resources much faster than normal when I stressed. I crave raw sugar food or junk food. Since i know that I will feel even worse and more stressed if eat some, I keep some fresh/dried fruits or juice around me even at work in order to maintain my clean eating diet.
I never ever skip my breakfast because my blood sugar is usually low when I wake up. That’s why having a breakfast is vital to kick-start my metabolism. In addition, my breakfast menu vary; i do not eat every morning the same thing.
I have the same attitude for lunch. Eating something healthy, several hours after breakfast, re-energizes my body and prevents stress from occurring. Having a light lunch is the key here because I would not want to fall asleep in the middle of the workday, yes you got the point ;).
Since I have experienced that to eat a heavy dinner causes indigestion and interfere with sleep, I keep my dinner as light as possible in order to maintain my clean eating habits. My body is already exposed to stress during the day so there is no positive benefit in eating much then my body can handle.
Last but not least, the presentation of my meal should be appetising. To me, a well prepared and nicely presented food is a mood booster. That makes my day!
